The Full Story
Verizon wanted to prove itself as not only a great network, but a great tech company that could give football fans more.
Virtual Gridiron used the latest virtual reality tech to give users a players-eye-view of the action as they made the calls for a team. Even better, the game allowed two players to compete against each other, with one controlling the defense, and the other taking on the offense.
Gameplay was scripted and designed to be as authentic as possible, using actual NFL plays, former professional players and a real stadium.
It drew big lines in Houston and a handful of awards.
